Can permanent teeth erupt unevenly?

An alignment problem may arise if a permanent tooth begins to erupt before the primary tooth has become sufficiently loose.

However, if your child's front permanent teeth curve away from the centre when they erupt (often first), don't worry; they should naturally realign as the remaining permanent teeth erupt.

It's also important to note that there is no correlation between the alignment of the primary tooth and the alignment of the permanent tooth that will eventually replace it.
