Texas Constitutional Carry allows eligible adults to carry handguns openly or concealed without a permit, making it one of the more permissive firearm laws in the United States. Introduced in 2021, Texas constitutional carry permits most residents aged 21 and over to carry handguns without a License to Carry (LTC), while active military members can carry at 18. Non-residents must meet reciprocity requirements or apply for a Texas LTC. Despite this freedom, there are strict restrictions in certain locations, including schools, universities, government meetings, places of worship, sporting venues, alcohol-centric businesses, healthcare centers, and correctional facilities.
