Do small businesses really need penetration testing?

I run a small online shop and a friend told me I should invest in penetration testing for my website. Honestly, I thought this was something only big corporations need, not a small operation like mine. My biggest concern is customer data and payment info, but I don’t know if hackers even bother with small sites. Has anyone here with a small or medium business actually done a penetration test? Was it worth the money?

I used to think the same until my site got hit with a brute force attack. Hackers target smaller businesses all the time because they know security is usually weaker. A penetration test can highlight those hidden entry points that you’d never spot yourself. The cool part is they don’t just point out the flaws — they guide you on fixing them too. I worked with https://www.stratussecurity.com/web-app-penetration testing and it gave me peace of mind. It’s definitely cheaper than dealing with a data breach or losing customer trust.
